to find a percent it is easy to set it to it's decimal form first
6.5%=.065
59.99*.065=3.89935 or the tax
59.99+3.89935=$63.89
to do this easier multiply 59.99 by 1.065 so the 59.99 is added in automatically

To find the the total cost Darin will pay, we will first find the sale tax. However, from the question, the cos is 6.5%

6.5% of $59.99

=
(6.5)/(100) × $59.99

=
(389.935)/(100)

=$3.899

Total cost Darin will pay = $59.99 + $3.899

=$63.89
