Gram-positive bacteria are stained as purple because of their single thick cell wall that cannot be easily penetrated by the solvent. Meanwhile,  gram-negative bacteria are decolorized because they have cell walls with much thinner layers that allow removal of the dye by the solvent. answer hence is  pink.
