A. Whitney and Rainsford's discussion about hunting.
In their discussion before they reach Ship-Trap Island, Whitney talks about how hunted animals feel fear. Then as they approach the mysterious island, Whitney feels fear and apprehension and describes the island as evil.

C. S; S; P
The easiest way to determine is to put a subject before each of the verbs. We know "He" is singular because it refers to one person. "They" is plural because it refers to more than one person. He breaks? yes - S. He freezes? yes - S. He are? No. They are? yes - P.

B. murderer.
In the story, the only hunters are hunting men. This is why it is called Ship-Trap Island because all of the people who land on the island are hunted and killed. A person who kills another person is a murderer. Therefore a hunter is a murderer in this story.
