During the 1920's people were involved with over speculation in the stock market. What is over speculation and why was it a problem?

Speculation is the practice of engaging in risky financial transactions in an attempt to profit from fluctuations in the market value of a tradable good such as a financial instrument. Problems involved are increasing the risk of stock investing and overproduction.
