3x^2 - 2y...when x = 3 and y = 5
3(3^2) - 2(5)
3(9) - 2(5)
27 - 10 = 17

2x^2 - 3y...when x = 3 and y = 5
2(3^2) - 3(5)
2(9) - 3(5)
18 - 15 = 3

17 - 3 = 14.....it exceeds it by 14
