The multiplicative rate of exponential decay is given by :-


b=1-r

Given: the rate of decay = 10 % = 0.1

Then , the multiplier for the rate of given exponential decay will be :-


1-0.1=0.9

Hence, the the multiplier for the rate of given exponential decay=0.9

If the population of the animals decreases by 10% every year. This means that the population for the next year is 90% of that in the previous. The multiplier for the rate of exponential decay is therefore 0.90. The answer is letter B.
