Critical listening is most appropriate for a persuasive speech.

Critical listening is similar to critical reading; both include analysis of the information received and alignment with what we already know or believe.

In a persuasive speech the speaker seeks to convince the audience to accept and embrace his or her point of view or stance about something. The speech is arranged in such a way as to cause the audience to accept all or part of the conveyed view.
