solve for 1 variable
solve for x in second

add 2y to both sides
x=2y-5
sub 2y-5 for x in first equation
2(2y-5)-5y=-14
4y-10-5y=-14
-10-y=-14
add 10 to both sides
-y=-4
times -1
y=4

sub
x=2y-5
x=2(4)-5
x=8-5
x=3

x=3
y=4
(3,4)
