By the 1850s, daguerrotypes cost anywhere from 50 cents to 10 dollars apiece. True or False?

I believe it was true, they sold for different prices but they weren't all that much.

True demand in 1840s for portraits increased and for talker first travel to meet this demand. In the 1850s over 70 studios in New York City use the daguerreotype process with the cost ranging from 50 cents to $10 each
