(-1)^(n+1)+(-1)^(n-1)=(-1)^n\cdot(-1)^1+(-1)^n\cdot(-1)^(-1)\\\\=(-1)^n\cdot(-1)+(-1)^n\cdot(-1)=-(-1)^n+[-(-1)^n]\\\\=\boxed{-2(-1)^n}

Hello,

(-1)^(n+1) + (-1)^(n-1) = (-1)^(n-1) ((-1)^2+1)= 2*(-1)^(n-1)
