To simplify the given expression above, combine the terms that involve the same variables. That is,
6y + 5z + 8y - 3z
(6y + 8y) + (5z - 3z)
Simplifying further the expression will give an answer of 14y + 2z. Therefore, the answer is 14y + 2z.
