high coefficient of friction would be better in these situation.

1. when a car is braking (friction between tire and road)
2. landing a plane (tire and runway)
3. writing (pencil lead and paper)

that's all I got. basically think of 2 situations where you want controlled slow motion.

Answer:

Few of the following cases while it requires friction or friction is beneficial is as following

1). While applying brakes during motion of car or any vehicle friction is required

2). While we have to take a turn on the road then it requires friction force due to which we will get centripetal force to take turn.

3). While writing on paper it requires friction between pen and paper.

4). While walking or running on road friction will provide sufficient force to move on the surface.

5). To hold the heavy objects against vertical wall it requires friction force on the wall due to which it is balanced.

In all above situations the friction force is required and the coefficient of friction must be more in all above cases.
