That process is called a debt rescheduling. A debt rescheduling is the possibility to restructure the terms and conditions of your debt. The two basic options to do so are the following. First, to reduce the amount of payment, extending the months you have to make that payment. So the debt contract increases its period. Secondly, reduce the amount to be for a certain period and then increasing the money to be paid in the following installments.
