The Americans with Disabilities Act is a civil right law that was designed to assist the B. handicapped, that is to say, any person who has a condition that that markedly restricts their ability to function physically, mentally, or socially. The Act aims to ensure that the handicapped have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else, therefore it prohibits discrimination in all areas of public life (jobs, schools, transportation, etc.).
