the plaintiff is the one who bring forth the charges in a case for example a man spray paint government property and the government sue the government is the plaintiff the person who did the crime is the defendant

Legal terms have defined the parties involved in case as Plaintiff and defendant. Plaintiff is the one who files the complain again a person and that person against whom the case is being filed us called defendant. so, the statement above is the definition of plaintiff.
