1) To open these doors, you must match the number and type of solutions for the following two fuctions in standard form.

f(x) = x2 + 6x – 16
g(x) = x2 +6x + 1
Match the following descriptions of the solutions to each of the functions above.
Hint: they each have their own match.
Two real irrationals solutions.
Two real rationals solutions.

After matching these functions, explain to Professor McMerlock how you know these functions meet each condition. Remember, he is a professor so use complete sentences.

f (x) = x² + 6 x - 16

x_(12) = (-6\pm √(36+64) )/(2)
x 1 = -8, x 2 = 2
g (x) = x² + 6 x + 1

x_(12)= (-6\pm √(36-4) )/(2)

x_(1) =-3-2 √(2) , x_(2) =-3+2 √(2)
Explanation: f(x) has two real rational solutions and g(x) has 2 real irrational solutions.
Answer: A) They each have their own match.
