Hydrogen atoms in a water molecule are attracted towards the other atom such as oxygen because the electrons are pulled close to the oxygen atom, because of greater attraction for electrons in it.

As a result of this attraction, oxygen posses slightly negative charge and hydrogen contain a partial positive charge.

Between the hydrogen and the oxygen, the oxygen tend to pull the electron closer to its atom
