Thomas Mifflin put aside his quaker beliefs because " he believed in colonial revolution.
Before this, mifflin was a great believer of pacifist beliefs. Then, he threw that out that beliefs and helped the pennsylvania military forces during the revolutionary war. Hope this helps.
