Hi Brainiac

Lets start by subtracting 3y from both sides

2y-4-3y=3y-5-3y

-y-4=-5

Now add 4 to both sides

-y-4+4= -5+4

-y=-1

Divide both sides by -1 so we can eliminate the negative sign

-y/-1=-1/-1

y=1

I hope that's help:0
