I will show you the easiest and fastest way to solve...

so..you have...


`(2)/(5) = (x)/(35)`

Just..CROSS MULTIPLY!!

2*35=70
and
5*x=5x

Leaving you with....

5x=70

Easy...now divide!!


`(5x)/(5) = (70)/(5)`

x=14

To check your work...plug it in....


`(2)/(5) = (14)/(35)`

simplify...

14/7=2

and

35/7=5

Thus, your answer.
