The Revolutions of 1848 benefit Louis Napoleon in a way that he was able to seize power and promise change.

The revolution of 1848 meant the end of the rule of King Louis Philippe. Luis Napoleon ran up for the election as candidate in the elections held in 1848 and he claimed victory so that he was inaugurated as President of the Republic.

Napoleon III, the nephew of Napoleon I, was the first elected President of France from 1848 to 1852. When he failed to constitutionally be re-elected, he seized power in 1851 and became the Emperor of the French from 1852 to 1870.

Louis Napoleon was the president of France at that time. His close advisors wanted him to stay and regain the power, but his wish was to show his prudence and loyalty to the Republic. For this purpose, he went to London and monitored the situations from there and later died there.
