Which explanation correctly solves this problem?

Reggie was fixing his fence. At the end of the day, he had 13.5 feet of fence left over. During the day, he had used one 2.5-foot-long piece of fence, two 6.75-foot-long pieces, and one 12-foot-long piece.

How many feet of fence did Reggie have at the beginning of the day?

A.
Start with 13.5. Add 2.5 to it. Add 6.75 to the sum. Then add 12 to the answer.

B.
Start with 13.5. Add 2.5 and 6.75 and 12. Add this sum to 13.5.

C.
Start with 13.5. Add 2.5 to it. Multiply 6.75 by 2 and add the sum and the product together. Then add 12 to the answer.

Given:
Left over fence: 13.5 feet
Used during the day:
2.5 ft - 1 pc
6.75 ft - 2 pcs
12 ft - 1 pc

Length of fence at the beginning of the day.

2.5ft(1) + 6.75ft(2) + 12ft(1) + 13.5ft(1)
2.5 ft + 13.5 ft + 12ft + 13.5ft = 41.5 ft

C.
Start with 13.5. Add 2.5 to it. Multiply 6.75 by 2 and add the sum and the product together. Then add 12 to the answer.
