What are some possible impacts of adding or removing a species from an ecosystem?

It can ruin the ecosystem, which can kill animals :)

somtimes, the species does something to keep another species in check, with one species gone, the other species grows too much

example
lets say that wolves keep rabbits in check
if all wolves suddenly die, then more rabbits since less of them are being killed
more rabbits means more food needed, the environment might not be able to suport that vast amount of rabbits and all the vegetation could die.
