Eric has two rock samples. One has a mass of 600 grams, and the other has a mass of 1 gram. He recorded the total mass as 7 kilograms. What do he do wrong? What is the correct answer?

The real answer would be 0.601 kilograms.
1 gram plus 600 grams would equal 601 grams. That then is divided by 1000 because one kilogram equals 1000 grams.
Once you divide 601 and 1000, you then get 0.601
