40=-(5n)/(8)\ \ \ |Multiply\ by\ 8\ \ \ both\ sides\\\\ 320=-5n\ \ \ |Divide\ by\ (-5)\\\\ n=-64\\\\Solution\ is\ -64.

To find value of n, we have to have only one n of the RHS.
To do this, we can multiply both sides by 8

40= (-5n)/(8) /*8

320=-5n
Now we can divide both sides by -5

320=-5n / :(-5)

-64=n

Result is -64
