How does natural selection affect animal behavior and how behaviors can affect the survival of an animal species?

There are behaviors that are beneficial for the species and behaviors that are detrimental. Usually animals will acquire behaviors beneficial to the survival of their species through natural selection. An organism is more likely to mate with another organism that behaves in such a way that will be beneficial to their offspring.
