Modernism started to reign after this period, including the advent of Fauvism, Cubism, Expressionism, and Futurism. The sharp lines and abstraction from the industrial age in the Dadaist movement gradually developed into the Bauhaus movement in Germany and an art group called Fluxus were particularily influential, as there was even more of a tendency towards abstraction, block colouring, hard edge painting, and minimalism
