ok so there is 12 boxes by 6 boxes per layer
so that is 72 boxes per layer
the crate has 576 boxes
therefore
576/72
and the answer is
8 layers

There are 8 layers in the crate!
Our volume is 576 units, or cereal boxes. 576 = 12 × 6 × UNKNOWN.
We can find our unknown number by dividing:
576 ÷ 12 ÷ 6 = 8 layers!
