My Answer Best Of Knowledge -

Hats were often worn for protection from the sun and industrial activities. Men tipp their hats, or remove them, in the presence of wemon as a sign of respect and trust. No while wearing a hat often is not as common now, removing one's hat inside a home or building is still considered good moralship, respect, and honor . Shows that you respect that person or you parents or guardian showed how to be polite when it comes down to things like this .

not sure disrespectful, but is shows trust

hats are like helmets
helmets protect the most important and vulnerable part of your body

when you enter someone's home, you take off your helmet/hat to show that you trust them since you don't need to guard against them
not taking off your hat could mean that you don't trust them
