Doctrine in the early Christian church helped unify the people by
helping them to understand the differences between Judaism and the
new form of Christianity - Roman Catholic.

At first, interpretation could make all people think differently and have different approaches regarding the same religion or the same gods. By having it all always the same way coming from a place of authority, the early Christians could build a sense of unity and identity around the doctrines of the church.
