Most people are confused with the order of these cells.

The number of sex cells are always half the number of chromosomes (boy cells).

The are 46 body cells so they are 23 sex cells in all. My reason being is because sperm fertilizes the egg and both the male and female cells combine to be one.
After this process the baby will began to form.

I really hope that this helps you out a lot. Have a nice day.

The number of chromosomes in a sex cell is half the number of chromosomes in a body cell. Think of it this way: 1 egg (women sex cell) combine with 1 sperm (male sex cell) to make 1 whole cell.
