Does a plant grow faster in light or dark

Plants grow faster in light rather than dark

My results were plants grow faster in the light. Because under the dark roots don't have enough radiant energy to be able to go thru photosynthesis. In the sunlight the stem follows the sunlight. Its the only way they grow. Its proved plants need sun.
