Paleozoica era lasted from 250 to 550 million years ago. At this time the Earth's surface has undergone great changes, including the emergence of mountainous sets as the Scandinavian Alps. This geologic era also is characterized by the occurrence of sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks, formation of large forests, glaciations, emergence of the earliest insects and reptiles.

hope this helps!
