6+1/4= 6 1/4
Jason runs 6 miles, and Megan runs 1/4 of a mile more, therefore you must add 1/4 to 6 to get the correct answer.
6/1 + 1/4= 24/4 + 1/4= 25/4
Simplify 25/4 and get 6 1/4.
