The main reason why the house of the Indus Valley Civilization were located near rivers or streams because of the presence of fertile soils in the banks. These fertile soils were very helpful as far as irrigation was concerned. Also people of the Indus Valley Civilization had easy access to water for continuing their daily life procedures.
