Like poisonous dart frogs, monarch butterflies are brightly colored. What might be adaptive advantage of bright coloration?

Bright colors are a warning to predators that the prey is poisonous, dangerous, distasteful, irritating, etc. Predators will see the bright coloration and hopefully pass the, over for something else.

The monarch butterfly uses the bright colour of its wings to send a warning signal to its predators. For example – Red adult Monarch sends a signal to its predators that it is distasteful and toxic through its bright orange colour and distinctive pattern. Some species of monarch have dull brown decorated with distinctive eyespots that confuses the predators and warn them
