What is the function of starch in a plant

The Starch is the form that plants store carbohydrate that they produce by the photosynthesis. Some of a carbohydrate they make to used a immediately while the rest is stored like a starch for use at night, when there's no sunlight, or for longer-term storage in roots, seeds and tubers .
