The answer is false. The fighting to take the beaches at D-Day was a very difficult operation and Ohama was the hardest and longest beach head to be taken by the Allies. Though it was eventually taken, it costs the Americans many soldiers who were killed or wounded in taking the bridge. They did on their own.
