They vowed to create a constitution for France. The Assembly came from the Third Estate and was made up of commoners from merchants to peasants who were always outvoted by the First Estate composed of the Nobility and the Second Estate composed by the Church. Due to the worsening situation in France the Third Estate took matters in their hands. This led to the French Revolution.
