The vote of one individual doea not matter because it cannot affect the outcome of an election

This is false, because all the votes that are added up in the end are all made up of "one vote" from each person. If (out of two people, for example) someone gets one vote more than another individual, than they win and the other loses. All votes count, evry single one.
