He says he is astonished to have the privilege to address the audience as this places him in a position of surprise and he goes further by expressing his thankfulness not just with words by also by bowing himself before the audience . These two show are humble of a man Frederick Douglas was. He stood for what he preached and that helped his cause of fighting against abolish and slavery in the mid nineteen century
