Engagement and motivation go hand in hand in my personal opinion. Motivation is key for humans to complete just about any task, and we are more driven to work harder or faster if we are motivated by a certain reward or punishment. However, if we are engaged by a topic or field, we will be motivated to find out more. Engagement is very important for motivation to be present in an individual.
