A delivery person is scheduled to pick up 9 crates of patio pavers. Each crate weighs 1/4 ton. How much weight will the delivery person need to plan for?

you can divide 1/4 which gives you 0.25

(1)/(4) = 0.25
now you must multiply 9 times 0.25, which will give you 2.25.

you can either leave it as a decimal which is 2.25 or change it to a fraction which is

2 (1)/(4)

he will pick up 9 crates...each weighing 1/4 ton

so he needs to plan on picking up : 1/4 * 9 = 9/4 or 2 1/4 (or 2.25) tons
