Without being able to see the article, there are quite a few assumptions that can be made. Someone who is dangerously overheated faces the danger of 1) heart attack. 2) the body going into shock (with inherent numbness to pain). 3)the person will sometimes stop sweating in which case they will continue to overheat. Certain organs may then shut down as the body goes into heat stroke and shuts down.
