W.E.B. du Bois thought that Booker T. Washington was too soft - he believed that if black people really wanted equality, they had to choose a strong and powerful leader to give them that. In his opinion, Booker didn't have such qualities, which is why he opposed with his ideas of peaceful rebellions which in his opinion brought nothing.
