3 notebooks, 5 dollars each, cost a total of 3*5 = 15 dollars before tax is added on
Take 8% of 15 to get:
8% of 15 = (8/100)*15 = 0.08*15 =
1.20
Answer: $1.20
Side Note: the total cost (after tax is added on) is 15+1.20 = 16.20 dollars
