Valence electron is the electron that located in the outermost layer of an atom or compound. The molecule NO is composed of 1 nitrogen and 1 oxygen. Nitrogen has 5 valence electrons and oxygen has 6 valence electrons. The valence electron of the compound would be: N + O= 5+6= 11
