Hi !

That's true !

exemple :

Vous voyez Marie = Vous la voyez

notice that the direct object pronoun is before the verb in French

It means that if you use the "passé composé" you'll have to agree the past participle with the direct object pronoun because it will be before the verb
Past participle of the Passé composé never agree except when the direct object is before the verb. In that case, the past participle agrees in gender and number with the direct object (don't know if you already studied that)

DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS
me/m'
te/t'
l'/le/la
nous
vous
les
m', t', l' before the vowels (a,e, i, o, u)+ Y + H

J'aime Marie = je l'aime (I love Marie= who do I love ? = I love her)
Je mange mon toast = je le mange (I eat my toast = what do I eat= I eat it)
tu aimes tes parents = je les aime
Nous invitons ta sœur et tes amis = Nous vous invitons
Vous invitez mon frère et moi ? = vous nous invitez
They always answer to the question what or who ?

indirect object pronoun
me/m'
te/t'
lui
nous
vous
leur

answer to the question 'à qui',
Téléphones-tu à Marie tous les jours ?
Oui, le lui téléphone tous les jours (indirect object pronoun)

hope it helps !!
