Why does mayella feel atticus is making fun of her?

She is not used to people noticing her or respecting her like Atticus is, So she thinks he is mocking her.

The Ewells live in poverty, and her father never treats her with respect. So when Atticus calls Mayella "m'am" or "Miss Mayella", she believes he is mocking her, and making fun of her for being poor.
