I would think that Patrick Henry would consider the alternative to taking up arms with Britain and pursuing an independent course would be necessary to avoid the disaster of the 13 colonies being used only to produce the products that Britain wants and only to be processed in Britain and thus strangle the economy of the 13 colonies.
